Hey Friends! The past couple of weeks have been super eventful because we launched Typogram! We opened our app to the world, and now you can use our free trial project to check out all our features!
I had many nightmares of app-breaking bugs, and none of those happened! Instead, the launch happened in a smooth way and we got plenty of helpful feedback and feature requests from our users. I put my head down and worked on two features that were the most requested and most urgent: Case switching and Tool Tips!
New Feature 1: Case Switching
Currently, our app offers a lifetime brand license, which we enforce by locking the brand name. Once the brand project is created, users can’t edit its brand name on their own but have to contact us. A few users requested a brand name change to explore capitalizing certain letters in their logo. This limitation is not what I intended — locking the brand name shouldn’t prevent users from switching the letter case. So I immediately started designing and implementing this feature. Here is a demo of it working, and it will be available in this app later this week!
New Feature 2: Tool Tips
Another feedback I received was about progression. Inside our app, users often have to perform specific actions before the “Continue” button appears, which then allows them to progress to the next step. It is not uncommon for users to get confused on how to move forward before the “Continue” button appears for the first time. To help solve this issue, I added a disabled state of the Continue button and tooltips.
The same tool tips are also used to denote icon buttons that don’t have a text label:
Hear From You
Have you checked out Typogram? or do you have user feedback? We are currently in the soft launch phase, and I am eager to hear more critical feedback that helps me improve the app before we plan our grand launch!
About Publishing Schedule
Before launch, my work schedule got crazier as we got closer to launch, and this weekly newsletter got pushed later and later each week until it changed from a Monday / Tuesday newsletter to a Late Friday night newsletter! I skipped a week last Friday to reset the publishing schedule to Monday/Tuesday. I hope this is a positive change that sticks around!
